I have a first-floor flat with a semi-circular bay consisting of three curved sash windows of which only one lower sash would open - the rest had been painted up and not used for decades. To restore everything to working order turned out to be a major undertaking as there turned out to be extensive rot everywhere: the window sills, the box sections, the external decorative wood facings, many of the sash glazing feathers and one complete sash which had to be replaced with a new manufactured one. Rob clearly knows his stuff and was a pleasure to deal with, as were Andy and Laurence. I was kept informed as to work, costs and timescales throughout the project and am very pleased with the outcome as I now have six working draughtproofed sashes and a smart newly-restored exterior to boot. I would highly recommend Hampshire Sash to anyone who needs this type of window restored; they did a great job!
It was a delight to meet Laurence and also to learn a lot about sash windows – particularly about steel and lead weights and different types of glass affecting things – quite fascinating! I had to leave before Laurence before he had finished but son and daughter in law where there and I'm sure he will have done a super job. Do thank him personally from me. He'll probably tell you about the resident spider which I believe has been re-instated in her old home – though she'll have to watch out now that the window actually works!! Many thanks again for a super service all round
Many thanks for a job very well done.
Rob and his team are truly excellent. We have had sash windows done before in another house and also have a wide range of exposure to building works as undertaken on various rental properties- so are not novices when engaged with building trade. Initially I considered their quote just a tad on the high side, when compared to others but given they are literally down the road, I really thought we should support the local community. In the event I think we got great value for money. Their attention to detail, composed workarounds to problems, superb work ethic of all staff members, the neat and tidy working practices, courtesy and general demeanour of the team when on site was refreshing and confidence inspiring.
Rob, has just completed all of our listed Georgian windows. What a fantastic job he and his team did, we are extremely pleased. Thank you, Rob.
Rob and his staff are always friendly and reliable and can be trusted to offer excellent service. Hampshire Sash Window Services have repaired almost all our sash windows over the last few years and we would not hesitate to recommend them.
Our need for replacement sashes was admirably met by Rob and his team. From the outset he communicated very clearly about the problems and options and kept us fully informed on progress. Everything was completed very tidily, and to the highest standards of craftmanship. Rob's knowledge, courtesy, and enthusiasm were all exemplary. Hampshire Sash can be fully recommended to others on every count
Rob has now repaired and renovated all the sash windows in our house, and we are delighted with the result. He and his team were a delight to work with, and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were totally reliable and professional, and every room was left exactly as they found it. I would recommend Rob very highly to anyone.
It was a pleasure it was to have Rob, Andy, Laurence and Dan working with us. They did an absolutely great job, we are so pleased with it, and we had fun too. We would not hesitate to recommend them.
Rob, thank you for an excellent job, and we are extremely pleased with the results to add draught-proofing and add sash stops to the windows in our Grade II listed cottage. Your knowledge and enthusiasm for sash windows were obvious from the start. The team was professional, courteous and very tidy. Thanks once again for doing a great job.
