Double glazed sash windows in South Farnham, Surrey

Our clients moved into their new home which has lovely sliding sash windows only to find that many had been painted shut, some cords had snapped and many of the fasteners were broken.

Additionally, some of the cills were rotten and needed replacement. At the very least some windows needed routine sash window maintenance to be carried out to ensure they operated properly in the future.

We carried out our usual survey and provided a written summary including recommendations as to essential works as well as some options for them to consider. They chose our full refurbishment and draught proofing service and they have rediscovered the delights of sash windows.

We also provided an enhanced level of security which was important as they have a young family – by installing Secure Sash Stops they are now able to leave bedroom windows open for good ventilation but with limited maximum aperture unless unlocked by a key.
