Sash windows restored in Winchester

The property had previously had its traditional sliding sashes removed and aluminium double glazed units installed in their place. The style, look and feel was completely wrong, and the property’s appearance was considerably diminished.

On the plus side, the original boxes were still in situ and, with one exception, proved to be serviceable. The local council were delighted that our client wished to restore the windows to their original condition and was happy to allow us to use 12 mm, slimline double-glazed units with discrete draught-proofing, returning them to their former glory but with enhanced thermal qualities.

Additionally, the bathroom had a casement unit that was out of keeping with the same elevation of neighbouring homes, and we supplied and installed a complete box and two sashes – again with double glazing.

The result is a transformation with this property now fitting in perfectly with the adjacent ones in the road and in the words of our client…

“You have made great progress so farand the windows look fantastic. The whole character of the house has been restored”.
